— MEET THE AUTHOR
Two Worlds,
One Voice.
I'm Maanasi Gowthaman—a fourteen-year-old writer, vocalist, and psychology enthusiast. My journey spans two continents, countless performances, and one mission: to understand the human mind and make the teen experience easier, kinder, and more meaningful.
— BIOGRAPHY
From Bengaluru to Dallas
My story began in the vibrant cultural tapestry of Bengaluru, India. At National Public School (NPS) Koramangala, I discovered the powerful blend of discipline and creativity. Winning the Story Wordsmith title and securing second place in Amor Musical at Odyssey 2024 taught me that excellence is both practice and passion.
Then, life took me 9,000 miles across the world to Dallas, Texas. Joining Rock Hill High School wasn't just a change of location—it was a shift in reality. Navigating a new country, a new system, and a new culture gave me a front-row seat to adolescent psychology.
That transition sparked my curiosity about the human mind. To explore these questions, I pursued structured learning through the Ashoka University Young Scholars Program and IBM's Wellbeing Academy.
Today, I stand at the crossroads of two cultures—singing Carnatic ragas with the same passion I bring to my American high school choir, researching emotions with the same intensity I bring to creative writing.
Why do we think the way we do?
Why do emotions feel so intense for teens?
What shapes resilience?
